Reporting & Searching

	ObserveIT User Diary Demo The User Diary is the area in the Web Console in which you can view all user sessions, based on specific user names. Sessions can then be examined by reading the textual transcript, and, if needed, replayed in the viewer.
	On Air Real Time Replay of User Sessions Administrators or auditors can clearly see when a user session is still active. In this mode, any user action performed in the replayed session will be instantly transmitted to the slide viewer, making it possible to view the user actions in real time.
	Free Text Search The Free Text Search view further expands searching capabilities, allowing you to perform "Google-like" searches based on any keywords you need, such as "registry", "notepad" or "delete". Results are displayed in a way that lets you see the context of the user actions.

	Generating Reports Advanced reporting features allow managers to discover important information, such as who touched the Registry Editor, based on user or application. Data can be filtered according to ObserveIT user, Windows user, Applications, Server and Date.
	Real-time Alerting and Integration with Management Tools 3rd-party monitoring and management tools - such as Microsoft System Center Operation Manager 2007, CA-Unicenter, IBM Tivoli, HP Openview and others – can be integrated with ObserveIT to create custom events, triggers and alerts.
	Integration with an IT Ticketing System When ObserveIT's session recording system is integrated with an IT ticketing system, the organization can require selected administrators to enter a valid ticket number before logging into selected servers and also automatically include key details about the login session within the specified ticket.

Security

	Setting User Permissions Setting permissions for access to information is a simple process in ObserveIT.
	Viewing Recorded Sessions with Limited User Permissions The ObserveIT security platform ensures that users can only gain access to metadata and recordings that they have permissions to see.
	Working with Identification Services ObserveIT allows you to identify the actual user, even generic Windows login names like 'Administrator' are used.

	Excluding Users from Being Recorded ObserveIT Server Policies can be configured so that it only records specific users, or records everyone excluding specific users. This allows for dynamic recording policies, tailored to fit the client's requirements.
	ObserveIT Console User Auditing and Permissions Even access to the ObserveIT Web Console itself is audited and recorded by ObserveIT, allowing the administrator to know who logged in to the Web Console, from what IP address, and what information they were exposed to.
	Creating Server Messages Messages can be created so that they appear on the users' screens after logging on to the monitored computers. These messages must be acknowledged by the users, and a textual feedback can be posted back to the ObserveIT Web Console. Messages can contain any text, warning or question, and they are stored in the ObserveIT database along with the users' replies.

Configuration

	Viewing Server Messages Server Messages are displayed on the users' desktops once they log on to the monitored computers. Their acknowledgment and reply are both graphically and textually recorded, and ObserveIT administrators can view these recordings in the Web Console.
	Working with Configuration Policies ObserveIT Servers (or Agents) are configured by using Server Policies. Server Policies are sets of configuration options that control aspects of how the monitored server is configured. By using Server Policies, the administrator can easily configure one set of recording settings, and apply these settings one many monitored servers at once.

ObserveIT's installation process is as simple as clicking on the setup program, providing the SQL server name and credentials, and selecting the right web site to install on. The entire process takes less than 5 minutes.

Connecting to LDAP Servers
Create a connection between the ObserveIT and an external LDAP server, such as a Microsoft-based Active Directory Domain Controller. This allows the ObserveIT server to query the LDAP server for logon information, and allow them access to the ObserveIT Web Management Console and/or use these accounts to provide users with the needed credentials for the ObserveIT Identification Services pop-up.
